Amy Michelle Mosier was born on April 17, 1979 in Scottsdale, AZ. Her family left not long after for Tucson, AZ. They moved onto the Tohono O'odham reservation, where the San Xavier del Bac mission is located and she remembers seeing the towers over a fence, though she was very young. At 12, she decided to teach herself Sign Language. She studied every day until being close to fluent. At 14, she started learning Spanish in junior high. At this time, she entered an essay contest and won. The prize was to attend a free writing course at the U of A. However, in the middle of a recession, her father lost the house they were living in and instead of attending, was forced to move back to the Phoenix metropolitan area. Amy attended Mesa Community College and Pima Medical Institute. In her spare time, she hiked and learned desert survival by picking up tricks that other hikers told her about and by researching online. She has learned some Arabic as well, being inspired by 9/11. Amy married Reynaldo Muniz on Oct. 20, 2007. A year later, another recession came about. After being laid off and bouncing from job to job, she decided to stay home and write poetry, after many years of not writing, which her husband encouraged. She did this for three years and this website is a showcase for her efforts. Enjoy. ;)
